Current champions Durham deservedly hold the favourite status going into the new domestic cricket season after retaining the title for a second consecutive year after going through the whole of the 2009 season without a single league defeat.

The challenge to Durham's dominance of the four day domestic game comes in the form of NOTTINGHAMSHIRE, who themselves are placed as favourites across some bookmakers.

However, their superficial challenge to Durham last summer was just that as they finished a massive 47 points behind their counterparts. Taking a similar shape to England, Notts were all too reliant on their mid-order batsmen following top order collapses. If this part of their game is rectified this summer, they could pose a serious theat to Durham.
